How we work
Engagement models, process and fees.
No open-ended billing without agreement, and no work starting before a written scope is accepted. Here is exactly how an engagement runs.
Engagement models
Three ways to work with us
Discovery session
A single structured session to understand the business, review what exists, and produce a short written summary of options.
- Fixed fee, quoted in advance
- Written summary provided afterwards
- No obligation to proceed further
Fixed-scope project
A defined piece of work with agreed deliverables, milestones and a fixed fee. The most common way clients engage us.
- Fixed fee against a written scope
- Milestone-based delivery
- Variations quoted separately before proceeding
Ongoing retainer
A recurring monthly arrangement for continuing advisory, management or maintenance work.
- Agreed monthly fee and included scope
- Monthly reporting
- Cancellable on notice as set out in the engagement terms
Process
From first contact to handover
Enquiry
You contact us with a short outline of the problem. We respond and, if it is outside what we do, we say so at this point rather than later.
Discovery and scoping
We review the relevant parts of the business, ask questions, and establish what success would look like.
Written proposal
You receive a proposal setting out scope, deliverables, exclusions, timeframe, fee and payment schedule. No work begins until you accept it in writing.
Delivery
Work proceeds against the agreed milestones, with regular progress updates. Anything outside scope is quoted separately before it is started.
Handover and review
Deliverables are handed over with documentation. Where relevant, we schedule a review to check the change held.
Fees and payment
How we charge
| Currency | All fees are quoted and invoiced in Australian dollars (AUD). |
|---|---|
| GST | Oz Trading Group Pty Ltd is not currently registered for GST, so GST is not charged on our fees. If this changes, quotes and invoices will state the GST treatment clearly. |
| Quoting | Fees are set out in a written proposal before work begins. We do not commence chargeable work on a verbal instruction alone. |
| Deposits | Fixed-scope projects generally require a deposit before commencement, with the balance payable at agreed milestones. |
| Invoice terms | Invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice. Standard terms and late-payment provisions are set out in our Terms of Service. |
| Payment methods | Australian bank transfer (EFT) to the account nominated on the invoice. |
| Variations | Work outside the agreed scope is quoted and approved in writing before it is carried out. |
| Cancellation | Cancellation and refund arrangements are set out in our Terms of Service and in the engagement proposal. |
